"I have been watching what you are doing. You have a good heart and I know you mean well, but do you realize how many beaches there are around here and how many starfish are dying on every beach every day? Surely, such an industrious and kindhearted boy such as yourself could find something better to do with your time. Do you really think that what you are doing is going to make a difference?"
The boy looked up at that man, and then he looked down at a starfish by his feet.

He picked up the starfish, and as he gently tossed it back into the ocean he said,
" To that star fish, I make a great difference!"
This is the story of the star thrower and it inspired me to want to do something to help in anything. It may seemed that we can do very little thing to help a situation, but little help here and there will really make a significant difference. Just any Act of Random Kindess would make a difference for something.
About the Global Warming, the melting of ice shelves that will harm life like the polar bear. Imagine one industry could stop emmiting harmful gases like carbon dioxide and just be able to help one polar bear from drowning, although to the big situation it makes no difference, but to the polar bear it made a life and death difference.
