Here's another update for the week. I've been reading a book " secrets of self-made millionaires" by Adam Khoo and also watched abit of Randy Pausch, the last lecture video. I'm seriously very inspired by what I'm exposed to and I can say that great minds think alike. The common traits I found in both them is the positive thinking they have.
For the last lecture, I would recommend that everyone just watched some part of it. Although its kind of time consuming but I gurantee you, its one of the wise investment you can risk on. That guy had tumor in his liver and was diagnosed as a terminal illness, but when he gave his lecture, he still sounded very optimistic and was grateful he's still alive. He said that it doesn't matter what card you have in your hand, its just a matter of how you deal with it. This gives a link to what I had read in the book. The book says that we should see problems as opportunity and not hindrances.
One true Example:
There is this guy that got his flight cancelled due to some unforeseen circumstance and many others landed into the same problem as him. He didn't see it as a hindrance but an oppotunity for great investment returns. He thought out of the box and quickly call and check out the details of hiring private plane. He managed to book a private flight with cost, which is the investment. He immediately went around with a board advertising, after 15 to 20 mins, he got all his seats filled up.
Wow! Incredible. He did not only managed to reach his destination but also bought wealth to himself and help to others. One of the question in the book really blow my mind and I really spent a few days thinking about but still didn't get a satisfactory answer.
Let me ask everyone of you. Let's just say if one day you managed to cap your finance at a rate of unlimited, you can have everything you want to buy and have financial freedom. What would you continue to do in life? Think about it.
Because you see, most people working a job for money becomes slave of money. They do not enjoy their job, but because of commitments they have to endure in order for money to come in. Some start business and fail because they see it as good money for the market now but they do not really have the passion for it. How a millionaires thinks and how they stay commited to what they do is a driving force call Passion. Seriously with a million dollars in your bank account, you can already stop working, provided you know how to manage your finance. You can invest in bank deposits and also low returns stock investment and would at least get a 15% return everyyear, which is about $12000 every month.
Therefore, your answer for the question above would be your passion. It's the force that drives you through difficult times and to make you stay 100% commited to something.
How do you acheive something you really really want in live?
You make it a Must in your life. Many people don't mind and want to be rich in their life but not everyone achieve it because its not a must in their lives. When something is a must to you, no matter what, you will do everything in your ability to make things happen. For e.g finding out information, getting yourself equipped and educated or even hunting for every opportunity possible.
Fact is most self-made millionaires start with nothing but the hunger for wealth and finanicial freedom. They don't really spent on anything blindly and just get anything they want for instant gratification. Most of the branded goods and expensive stuff are either bought by mid income people with some savings or by credit cards or even by lottery.
It's seriously very possible to be a self-made millionaire, we are all fooled by the media portraying how millionaires lead their lives. What we have in common with them that could generate lots of money is a very valuable asset, our brain. Evidence shows that the average person just only used less than 1% of the brain capacity.
See how much potential we hold?
